Icy Demons & The Feelies
THISSSS MONDAYYYY ATTTT MILLENIUM PARK / CHICAGOOO

we leave for Europe on Wednesday on a massive 5-week euro-tour,
Extra Golden with Icy Demons
tonight, April 20, 9:30pm
at Empty Bottle
from EmptyBottle: Representing the unlikely collision of D.C. scenesters and Kenyan musicians, EXTRA GOLDEN is an international force for good feelings, good music and good times. Marrying bluesy slide guitar, “96 Tears” organ runs with drums and percussion tripping over each other in a vibrant shuffle, this is international party time music. After a dancing-in-the-heat set at last years’ Pitchfork Fest, EXTRA GOLDEN are touring behind last month’s Thrill Jockey release Thank You Very Quickly, leaving a wake of inexplicably smiling people as they cross America. Gifted experimental ensemble ICY DEMONS will also perform their “epic journey into the nether regions of pop music, hallucinatory chamber jazz, and mid-seventies German-style electronics.” Featuring members of BABLICON, MICHAEL COLUMBIA and NEED NEW BODY, the band will open gearing up for a string of shows this May throughout Europe – catch these local favorites before they head for distant shores.

BEGINS SOOOOOOON!
Check out Dwight’s FRESH SESH! AMAZING SOUNDS!

from dublab:
Legendary beat producer Count Bass D was visiting Los Angeles recently and came out to the Secondhand Sureshots premiere screening. He was so inspired by the creative music experiment on screen that he raced home and made several new beats on a borrowed MPC by sampling dollar bin wax he bought while in town. The very next day he cruised to dublab and played the tunes live pad hit by pad hit by pad hit on the beat machine. He also sampled some records on the spot and rocked some instantaneous magic. Once a beat sequence would get rolling he jumped around the studio enthusiastically spazzing out to the amazing sounds he created. All we can say is wow!!!
